At ignition inclusion the electronic block of management (ECU) ABS/EBD carries out monitoring of a condition of components of each of contours of both systems. In case of infringement revealing in memory of the processor the corresponding code of malfunction is brought, and in a combination of devices of the car the corresponding control lamp (ABS or brake system) is activated.
Reading kept in memory of the block of codes can be made by means of special scanner Hi-scan pr, connected to fixed on the air cleaner case, to diagnostic socket DLC equipped with a protective cover (Power supply systems, managements of the engine/decrease of toxicity of the fulfilled gases and release of the fulfilled gases see).
Switch off ignition and connect the scanner to DLC.
Include ignition and choose in the scanner menu the correct name of mark and car model (KIA Sportage).
After scanner initialization choose an interrogated element.
Activate procedure of a conclusion of codes of malfunctions (№ 1), - on the scanner screen all will start to be deduced stored in memory of the processor of the module of management four-unit DTC.

Codes will continue to be deduced until memory of the processor will not be cleared. |
Make necessary corrections, then clear memory of the processor.

Having eliminated malfunction, make sure of serviceability of functioning of under control system (ABS/EBD), then activate procedure of clearing of memory of the processor, - point № 4 menus, - and press key Enter (Input) on the scanner keyboard.
