Features of operation of the cars equipped with automatic transmission (АТ)

On cars considered in the present Management it is established 4-step АТ with electronic control. Selector AT lever is located in the bottom part of the central console.

Selector AT lever, principle of switching of modes

The conclusion of the lever of the selector from position P can be made only at the included ignition, the squeezed out pedal of a foot brake and the pressed button of removal of fixing.

It is not necessary to increase engine turns at the chosen mode of advance or back and the pressed pedal of a brake. Switching of transmission from position N / P in working positions should be made on single turns of the engine, - keep a pedal of a foot brake of the pressed!

Indicators of position of selector AT

The lever of the selector of ranges of transmission can be in one of six fixed positions.

Emergency разблокирование the selector lever in position P.

In structure of a combination of devices of the models equipped with automatic transmission the additional display lamps allowing the driver are built in it is easy to supervise position of the selector of ranges АТ (the Section the Combination of devices, measuring instruments, control lamps and light indicators see).

Appointment of positions of the lever of selector AT

Engine start is possible only in positions P and N the lever. If the car stop is made, when АТ is in one of movement ranges (D, 2, L, R, or N), it is necessary to release completely a pedal of gas and to squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake, or to cock a lay brake.

While translating the lever of the selector of position N in any of movement positions necessarily squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake.

Position Р

Before an exit from the car do not forget to cock a lay brake also.

Extraction of a key from the ignition lock becomes possible only after transfer of the lever of the selector in position Р.

In this position of the lever of the selector blocking of transmission and car driving wheels is made. Transmission transfer in parking position should be made only after a full stop of the car.

Moving of the lever of the selector to position P during movement leads to blocking of driving wheels, and also is interfaced to risk of serious internal damages of transmission!

For a conclusion of transmission of position Р it is necessary to squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake and to press the button of removal of fixing on the lever.

Position R

The given position of the lever of selector AT is used for movement by a backing.

Transmission switching in position R during advance is interfaced to risk of serious internal damages! If the backing does not join after a full stop of the car, squeeze out a brake pedal and slowly move the selector lever at first to position N, then in position R.

Position N

In given position АТ of a wheel and transmission are not blocked also the car it is possible to move freely, a method качения at any position of a distributing box.

Use position N at start of on the move decayed engine, and also at short stops of the car with working engine. If there is a necessity for an exit from the car, do not forget to translate preliminary the lever in position Р.

At a conclusion of the lever of position N do not forget to squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake.

Position D

The given position is used in most cases at movement in the conditions of not loaded city cycle and on highways. In the given position the full range of switching of forward transfers with maintenance of an optimum parity capacity/expense of fuel is used, and in corresponding situations the mode of braking by the engine automatically joins.

For the purpose of improvement of efficiency of return of not heated-up engine switching АТ 4th transfer at temperature of a cooling liquid more low 70С is blocked.

Squeezing of a pedal of gas with overcoming of a point of resistance leads to mode activation kickdown, leading to automatic switching of transmission on a hill-climbing gear for the purpose of increase приемистости, for example at overtaking.

Position 2

In the given position the range of automatic switchings of transmission is limited by 1st and 2nd transfers.

It is recommended for selection большей to capacity at movement uphill, and also for braking by the engine on descents. Besides, in the given mode the probability of proslipping of wheels on a slippery road covering decreases. Switching from 2nd transfer on 1st occurs at speed of movement below 43 km/h. The top limit of speed of movement in the given mode makes 60 km/h.

Excess of the top restriction of a high-speed mode is interfaced to risk of exit АТ out of operation as a result of an overheat!

Position L

The given mode is recommended to use at towage of heavy cargoes, or movement on a steep slope. The top limit of speed of movement in a mode L makes 35 km/h.

Winter mode (HOLD)

At driving with use of mode HOLD do not exceed as much as possible admissible value of turns of the engine!

HOLD is as a matter of fact a winter mode and it is recommended to use at a start of motion on a slippery road covering, and also for braking by the engine on abrupt descents.

Activation of mode HOLD leads to change of algorithm of a gear change at movement in position D the selector lever, - the range of switchings will be limited by two transfers: 2 and 3, i.e., трогание the car from a place it will be made from the second transfer with the subsequent switching on 3rd.

Activation of mode HOLD in positions 2, L and R the lever does not influence in any way algorithm of switchings АТ.

The button of inclusion of a mode is on the handle of the lever of the selector directly under larger button of removal of fixing. Serviceability of activation of a mode proves to be true inclusion built in a left-hand side of a combination of devices of the light indicator (the Section the Combination of devices, measuring instruments, control lamps and light indicators see). Mode switching-off is made by means of the same button, - the indicator should go out.

Transition of the alarm indicator of mode HOLD in a flashing mode is a sign of malfunction of transmission, - address on HUNDRED companies KIA!

Sports mode (POWER)

The switch of sports mode АТ is located on the panel of devices, to the right of a steering column (see Has undressed Controls and the salon equipment).

At normal driving the sports mode should be disconnected, - thus the gear change will be made on the algorithm providing the maximum economy of fuel (position ЕСО of the push-button switch).

Activation of a sports mode (position POWER the switch) is possible only in positions D 2 or L the selector lever, and in two last cases the algorithm of switchings of a box will not change. In position D the lever activation of mode POWER leads to a delay of switching of transmission on raising transfers, i.e., switching will occur at higher turns of the engine that provides the best dynamics of the car.

Activation of mode HOLD leads to automatic switching-off of mode POWER.

Blocking of switchings and emergency conclusion of the lever of the selector from position P

Extraction of a key from the ignition lock is possible only in position Р of the selector lever of transmission.

For the purpose of safety of the driver and passengers АТ it is equipped by system of the blocking preventing possibility of a conclusion of the lever of the selector from position P at the released pedal of a foot brake.

Squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake, start the engine/include ignition, then (without releasing a pedal) press the button of removal of fixing on the handle and translate the lever in demanded position.

If some times successively to press and release a brake pedal in parking position of transmission, in the field of the selector lever there can be a noise which is not a sign of malfunction and should not cause anxiety.

At refusal of removal of blocking (to deduce the lever from position Р by normal way it is not possible) operate as follows:

  • Having hooked a screw-driver, remove заглушку from an aperture emergency разблокирования, in the facing panel of the lever, to the right of the last, insert into this aperture the ignition key and press on it downwards (see an illustration);
  • Press the button of removal of fixing, and deduce the lever of the selector from position P;
  • Address on HUNDRED companies KIA for definition and elimination of a cause of defect.
