The general information

The general data on elements of systems of additional safety (SRS) and the description of principles of their functioning are resulted in Section System of additional safety (SRS) Heads Controls and operation receptions.

In the given chapter some additional information on service and diagnostics of main component SRS - safety pillows is resulted.

The system consists of the electronic diagnostic block equipped with the independent power supply (ADU) with included in it the gauge of the directed overloads, modules of pillows of safety of the driver and the forward passenger, a contour of self-diagnostics and a feedback contour.

Necessary condition of activation of modules of pillows of safety is operation placed in ADU gauges of the directed overloads calculated on face-to-face blow, causing overloads in size not below some threshold value.

The self-diagnostics system provides short-term activation of control lamp SRS on an instrument guard of the car at ignition key turn in position ON. In the absence of any deviations at interrogation of elements of system the lamp should go out after approximately 6 seconds. Refusal of switching-off of a control lamp, no less than its operation during car movement testifies to revealing of malfunction any of components SRS. For check of system and elimination of a cause of a failure the car should be driven away on a car repair shop.

Safety measures

In case of need steering wheel removals, and also at radio receiver service, or other devices of components located near to the panel try not to suppose рассоединения electric sockets of electroconducting of chain SRS, - electroconducting of system of additional safety is easy for distinguishing on bright yellow colour of isolation.

At service of pillows of safety do not forget to put on goggles and rubber gloves.

On a surface of a pillow of safety there can be a touch гидроксида sodium (NaOH). Try not to suppose hit on a surface of the module of a moisture and inflammable liquids. Hit traces гидроксида sodium on hands or in eyes should be washed off immediately a plentiful quantity of water.

Connection of measuring instruments to contact plugs of sockets of modules of pillows of safety try not to damage the last щупами, - most correctly to enter щупы from the back party of a socket.

At all do not assort components SRS! Casual operation of pillows of safety is interfaced to risk of reception of serious traumas.

Before electroconducting connection to ADU make sure of reliability of fixing of the last on the regular place.

Always hold the removed module of not used pillow of safety a face sheet from itself!

Always stack the removed modules a face sheet upwards, watch, that on a surface of a workbench near to the removed module there were no tools and other extraneous subjects.

Recycling of the worked modules of pillows of safety also should be made with observance of requirements of the local legislation to preservation of the environment.
